Golden Leaves was created for a food and nature exhibition in 2014 called Nourish and painted from a photograph by a nature photographer friend named Chris Huber. Chris is the only photographer I have ever consistently bought prints from.
He graciously allowed me to use his original image for my photo reference material and I added texture and played with the contrast for a dynamic play of light and shadow.
Golden Leaves perfectly evokes the glowing beauty of the incomparable Pacific Northwest in the fall, loveliest of seasons here. I used a mixture of traditional oil, water mixable oil, and various acrylic mediums to create a multi-layered textural look to the painting that cannot ever be fully captured in a professional photograph.
This is now available in cross stitch as the original painting sold in 2021.
Includes pages of instructions and diagrams:
- Material list - including floss color, canvas size recommendations, etc
- Pictures are included as some items are too small to capture the pattern but need included in your final cross stitch.
