October Witch is a fantasy work that explores the themes of the spooky season, October. The crows and the blood moon add to the elements of magic and
mystery. I used actress Anya Taylor-Joy as the model, since she has a strange and slightly unsettling beauty. The crow in the foreground is oversized to convey a
sense of magical realism. It perches on a white pumpkin, another October theme. The sorceress appears against a golden wood, which adds a depth and richness.
